Spring is definitely in full swing here in the Northwest. The colors on campus really start to pop this time of year. Unfortunately, it's right about the time of graduation, when everyone leaves. Haha, get it, leaves? Anyway, campus is looking really good right about now; we wish you were here to see it for yourself. Since you are not, here is a little compilation of our spring 2021 greatest hits.

This year was hard, and it feels nice to celebrate a complete academic year on campus. Thank you, students, faculty and staff, for all doing your part.

Chris Low has been the photographer in the Office of Marketing Communications since April 2018. As husband to a nurse and dad to a 7-year-old redhead, he likes to build with LEGOs, get tattooed, and drink tons of coffee. Sometimes, when in better shape, he likes to run long distance races in the forest.

The year 2020 will forever be remembered for the novel coronavirus that ravaged the world. The details are still a bit unknown, but it is believed that Washington state had the U.S.鈥檚 first case on Jan. 20. 麻豆社 five weeks later, Oregon reported its first case, and soon after Gov. Kate Brown announced that schools would close starting Monday, March 16. That was followed by a stay-at-home order on March 23. Students at 麻豆社 Fox went on spring break March 20-27 and were asked not to return to campus for the remainder of the semester.

Who Are First-Generation Students?

Have you ever heard the term 鈥渇irst generation鈥� or 鈥渇irst-gen鈥�? This language is talked about frequently in regards to college students, but can sound ambiguous. The definition of a first-generation student is 鈥渟cholars for whom neither parent/guardian has completed a bachelor鈥檚 degree.鈥�
